I’m often asked about success, and what it means. What a great question!

Let’s take a quick look at what are a few key elements to success.

How is it that there are some who we know personally, or those who we admire from afar, who repeatedly succeed in different areas, yet others do not.

  • What exactly does success mean?
  • What does it mean to you?

Knowing how you define success and understanding your criteria for success, are critical to bringing something to conclusion.

It takes intuition, clarity, belief, consistency, plus great sacrifices, and that dogged determination to get across the line….as long as you know where the line is.

It takes you, and your support crew or team; your family, friends, colleagues and business team – nobody succeeds alone.

What do you think are the key ingredients it takes to succeed?

The way you answer this question can define where you are now, where you want to go, and the criteria to know you have got there.

To know your criteria of success and what you believe success is for YOU, is the foundation to a consistent and resilient business in itself.

Take a moment to jot down your definition of success, as well as the criteria to use along the way.  It is not just the finish line that is important; it is the small steps it takes to get there.

The 3 Minute Success Check

1. Define success in your terms.

2. How does your definition make you feel?

3. What are your criteria for success?

4. Integrate your criteria in to your goals, your purpose and your action plan.

Forget about traditional definitions, or what others say, it really is up to you to define your own happiness. Not just at work, in your business, also your home, your life and what you would like to achieve in this world.

Does it make you happy? If you are, you are successful. The happier you are ‘overall’, the more successful you will be.

In turn, if there is an area you are not happy with, perhaps it is time to take a closer look at your definition of success.

It is the criteria, the key ingredients for YOU that are important, the small steps you take to be who you want to be.

Wishing you a lovely week.
